Information on Entrance Exams
Admissions Criteria
Unified Entrance Exam – weighting: 60.2% (minimum weighting required by law)
There is no minimum score required on the standardized entrance exam for the second round of the admissions process.
This approach helps eliminate the impact of momentary stress and allows your true talent to shine through, because we believe that overall academic potential is more important than a flawless performance in a single specific subject—especially under pressure.
School entrance exam – total of 66 points; weighting 39.8%
While state tests assess standardized knowledge, our own school exam is a key component of our entire admissions process. It is through this exam that we place the greatest emphasis on what we consider essential: your critical thinking skills, your ability to make connections, and your genuine interest in the field.
Interview – min. 27 points, max. 54 points
Written essay – scored as part of the interview
Other evidence of eligibility for study (diplomas, certificates, and credentials) – max. 12 points

The school entrance exam is more important to us than Cermat results
For us, Cermat test results are not the final deciding factor in a student’s admission. We are interested not only in the level of their knowledge, but also in their way of thinking, their motivation to study, and their approach to personal development.
The school entrance exam therefore plays a key role. It allows us to better understand why a student wants to study, how they think about learning, and how they approach new challenges.
Thanks to this part of the admissions process, we are able to assess a student’s academic potential, motivation, and readiness to continue developing. We are looking for students who are eager to learn, think critically, and actively engage in class.
1. Interview
Applicants should prepare electronic or printed materials for a 5-minute oral self-presentation. During this presentation, they will briefly introduce themselves, describe their strengths and weaknesses, interests and hobbies, past achievements, and future goals. The presentation will also include an explanation of why they want to study at Fostra and how they can contribute to the school.
The interview assesses the candidate’s motivation to study at the high school in several areas—academic and extracurricular interests, motivation to study, and expectations from their studies—over the course of 5 minutes.
This is followed by a 5-minute discussion based on an essay that the applicant writes at school during the 45-minute written portion.
15 minutes, min. 27 points, max. 54 points
For the Fostra International program, the school entrance exam is conducted in English.
2. Essay
For the written essay, the applicant will choose one of the three topics provided and write an essay of 150 to 180 words; the essay will serve as the basis for the interview. We evaluate the essay’s proper structure, the logical coherence of the text, adherence to the requirements of the essay format, the required length, and how well the chosen topic is addressed.
45 minutes, scored as part of the interview
For the Fostra International program, the school entrance exam is conducted in English.
3. Additional Academic Prerequisites
Copies of certificates confirming a top-three finish in district-level and higher rounds of academic competitions and contests, earned during secondary school, each worth 1 point;
Certificates of volunteer work from an umbrella organization (helping at school, supporting charitable organizations, environmental protection, or other volunteer work in organizations)—each worth a maximum of 2 points;
Certificate of passing a foreign language exam at the B1 level or higher—each worth a maximum of 3 points.
We do not award points for report cards in the admissions process
