Career at Gymnázium Fostra
Our vision is to provide students with an education that prepares them for the modern world, motivates them to explore, and helps them develop their own interests and talents.
We are growing and looking for teachers who want to be part of it
At Gymnázium Fostra, we create an environment where teaching has the space to go deeper. We do not want to simply pass on knowledge to students, but to guide them towards thinking, discussion and a deeper understanding of the world around them. We are looking for teachers who want to inspire students, motivate them, develop their strengths and become part of a school with a clear vision.

What teaching at Fostra looks like
At Fostra, a teacher is a guide, motivator, inspiration and partner. In our teaching, we place emphasis on understanding, context and the active involvement of students. The role also includes participation in school life, school projects, project days, extracurricular events and other student activities.
Our approach is based on:
modern and interactive teaching
smaller study groups
development of critical thinking
a focus on languages and humanities
practical and visual learning
space for your own teaching approach
Space for meaningful teaching
We want teachers to be able to focus mainly on high quality teaching, working with students and developing their subject. That is why we create an environment where they have the support of school leadership, colleagues and strong organisational support.
We regularly include project based and interactive learning in students’ education. This helps them better understand context, become actively involved and connect what they learn with the real world.
When you want to prepare a project day, a trip, an extracurricular activity, practical teaching or purchase new teaching materials, we will help you find a way to make it happen. The school also has a project team that helps plan activities that extend regular teaching. Teachers can therefore bring their own ideas and know that they will not be left alone when putting them into practice.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for secondary school teachers who want to become part of a modern grammar school with an emphasis on languages, humanities and critical thinking.
We would be happy to meet someone who has natural respect for students, a desire to help them grow and an interest in teaching that goes deeper.
We are especially looking for:
qualified secondary school teachers
students in the final years of faculties of education
people interested in modern education
teachers who enjoy discussion, context and working with students
people who want to be part of school life
We care about teaching that engages students, actively involves them and has a real impact. We value teachers who can work with modern technologies, look for new approaches in education and want to guide students towards thinking.
That is why, when you decide to join us, we will want to experience your teaching. A demonstration lesson is therefore part of the selection process. We need to see how you communicate with students, what methods you like to use, how you speak and how you handle more challenging situations. Afterwards, we will go through your lesson together, so you know what we liked and where we see room for further development.

Excellent support for growth
Fostra is an environment where not only students grow, but teachers as well. We give space to people who want to explore new ways of teaching, develop their subject and bring their own energy into the school.
Part of this approach is Fostra Academy, our internal educational platform that supports teachers’ professional development, the sharing of know how and the development of effective teaching methods.
We want teachers to have strong support that allows them to focus on what matters most: high quality teaching, relationships with students and the long term impact of their work.
